Unique features of this intersection included the following: avoided impacts to the Norfolk Southern Railroad near relocated Turkey Creek Road, re-routed 4 driveways away from roundabout, minimized impacts to gas station, and coordination with proposed church along Turkey Creek Road. Project was 100% funded with local SPLOST ($2,300,000 construction), utilized AEI Light PDP to expedite design schedule, improved traffic operations and safety, improved overall roadway network, improved aesthetics of community, public highly in favor of project, and project planned to open before new Poplar Road Interchange at I-85 was constructed, which will add significant traffic volume to this area.
